The Omega Story
Omega Fibreglass was established in 1999 in
Johannesburg, South Africa by Thomas Eich, who was taught the skills required
in the composite industry by his father Peter Eich. Peter is a passionate
glider pilot and ran his own successful composite company for many years,
before joining Thomas at Omega Fibre.
Thomas has enjoyed a long history in
motorsports winning many National and Regional Championships in Superbikes,
Trials, Enduro and Rally racing. This has allowed Thomas to both promote and
innovate his products in race-proven environments, ensuring that competitors
have only the best to perform at their optimum peak. Thomas has been featured
in many publications both locally and internationally, due to his passion and
knowledge of his chosen field of interest.
2021 marks a new exciting era for Omega,
not only with its new extensive range of carbon products, but with a partner to
the Omega Team. Brendon van Niekerk has been around motorcycles since his feet
could just touch the ground on his Italjet 50cc MX bike. His passion for
motorcycling brings along with it a wealth of experience.
Omega has established itself as a premier
manufacturer of quality composite accessories, that cover a broad range of
motorcycles and motorcycle disciplines. Omega Fibre has grown its worldwide
market to a point that the facility in South Africa is no longer able to keep
up with international demand, thereby facilitating an exciting collaboration
with Tekmo Racing. Omega Fibre and Tekmo Racing share an ethos to manufacture
high quality pre-preg carbon fibre parts, utilising the latest autoclave
technology.
